Location of Manas National Park: This beautiful national park is located in the foothills of Himalayas. However, a part of Manas park extends upto Bhutan, but the whole park is popular because of being place where many endangered wildlife species can be seen. The name of this park is derived from the name of a river called Manas, which in turn got its name from the serpent God Manasa. This park was named as national sanctuary in India in the year 1928. but, the park was reformed when it was made a tiger reserve. The total land occupied by Manas National Park is about 391 sq.km.

The nearest railway station is at Barpeta Road and bus routes are regularly available.
