The Dasaswamedh Ghat is one of the oldest Ghats in Varanasi and has remained unspoilt till date. This Ghat features a picturesque view of the river front. One of the best sights for the pilgrims is the time of the evening Aarti in the Dasaswamedh Ghat.

Harish Chandra Ghat being one of the oldest Varanasi Ghats is named after King Harish Chandra who worked at the cremation ground and was rewarded by the Gods due to which he reclaimed his throne and got back his dead son too. Harish Chandra Ghat is some times known as the Adi Manikarnika. Hindus believe that if a person is cremated at the Harish Chandra Ghat, he receives salvation.

The Tulsi Ghat which is one of the important Varanasi Ghats is named after the great poet Tulsidas. This Ghat also has a temple of Lord Ram and Ramlila was first staged over here. This Ghat also has numerous relics of Tulsi Das being preserved including his samadhi, pillow, wooden clogs, and the Hanuman Idol that he worshipped. Tulsi Ghat was known as the Lolark Ghat earlier and is associated with numerous cultural activities.
