Banganga is located just 1 km away from Katra and one comes across the holy cave of Adhkuwari after another 6 km. This is the cave where Mata Vaishno Devi meditated for 9 months. Getting a glimpse of the shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is one very difficult as there are too many pilgrims waiting for Darshan.
In fact according to a common faith one can visit Vaishno Devi only when Mata Vaishno Devi calls them as they start walking, a supernatural power tends to draw them towards the shrine of the Mata.
